AVIVA / GAES 2007-2011
Joff project managed Dee Caffari's campaign between 2007 and
2011.
Joff was responsible for managing the new build in NZ and then
managed all technical aspects of the boat for the Transat 2008,
Vendee Globe 2008/9, and TJV 2010.
With new sponsorship in 2010, Joff led a refit and modification
programme in Barcelona in preparation for the 2010 Barcelona World
Race. The boat finished every race.

In 2010 Simon managed the Open 60 Rusalka. Included in the full
management remit was the project management of an extensive refit
and modification programme. In addition to general servicing,
the decks, topsides, bottom, appendages and interior were
re-painted. The keel was modified hydraulics overhauled, engine and
saildrive replaced, interior redesigned and galley fitted, and much
more.
Simon then went on to re-commission and skipper Rusalka for the
owner during 2010.

Neville Hutton brought Joff in to help manage the build of this
IMOCA 60 in 2006.
With Team Project Manager Jason Carrington, Joff set up a new
build facility and then managed the drawings, schedule and
materials.
ARTEMIS OCEAN RACING 1 2007-2010
ARTEMIS OCEAN RACING 1 2007-2010
Simon joined the Artemis Ocean Racing team as skipper of the
IMOCA 60 Artemis Ocean Racing 1, servicing all corporate
hospitality requirements, managing the technical preparation of the
yacht and team and achieving a very competitive set of results on
the UK Race Circuit.
He was awarded the RORC class championship for the 2008/9 season
as well as being involved as skipper in several high profile media
events.

In 2004 Joff was engaged by Conrad Humphreys to prepare and
manage his Vendee Globe campaign, starting with a substantial
refit. With limited time and budget the boat was prepared
for The Transat race which Conrad finished competitively and
safely. With a mini refit that summer Joff began preparing the boat
for the pressures of the Vendee Globe. Conrad completed the race
successfully in 7th position, This was a very successful project
with all races finished, all timelines met and recognition for
fighting above it's budget.

SIR ROBIN KNOX - JOHNSTON / (SAGA INSURANCE)
In 2006/7 Simon took on the role of project manager for Sir
Robin Knox Johnston in his campaign to compete in the Velux 5
Oceans Solo round the world yacht race. He was tasked with forming
a team and managing the campaign, securing and managing of
additional budget, and managing the logistics and preparation at
each stop-over.
Sir Robin, with Simon's support, completed the Velux 5 Oceans
becoming the oldest competitor to finish a solo round the world
yacht race in his second solo circumnavigation at the age of
68.
